Christmas is here!
Christmas morning was here and Will was up at his usual time (6:30 AM). So we quickly got the video camera in place to capture Will's reaction as he came down the stairs. Malissa carried him downstairs as I watched from the family room. As he came down, the first present he saw was the train set. He quickly burst into an emphatic "WHOOOOOOAAAAAAA" and ran down to play with the train set. We were so excited he liked it, but soon found out that nothing else mattered to him after that. We tried to pull him over to the Christmas tree to open more gifts, but he had no interest. All he wanted to do was play with the train set. Who could blame him, it looked fun. After about 30 minutes of playing with the train set, we were able to convince him to open more gifts (only by telling him that he might have more trains to open). So we finally got all of the gifts unwrapped, but Will soon went back to playing with the train which continued to do most of the day. Christmas 2008 was wonderful as usual and we were sad to see it come to an end. Here are a few pictures from throughout the day (including a few with uncle Andrew who came over for lunch).

Christmas Eve
For Christmas eve this year, we went to Josh's parents to celebrate with his parents and Brian, Max, Sarah. Everyone had a wonderful time and it was good to have the family together. As usual, Rixena made lots of delicious food for everyone to snack on throughout the day. Max and Will were both showered by gifts from Grandma, Papaw, Brian and Sarah, so it was fun to watch them open all of the gifts. Seriously, these kids made off with more gifts than they could ever imagine. By the end of the day, it was hard to determine which gifts were to go home with Max or Will. All in all, everyone had a wonderful time and were exhausted. Here are some pics from the day.

On the way home, we told Will he had to put out cookies and milk for Santa and then had to go to sleep before the Santa would come. So as soon as we got home, he helped mommy put out the cookies, milk and carrot for Rudolph and quickly went off to bed. He was exhausted from the day, so he was quick to hop into bed. Will had asked Santa for a train set, so we'd have to wait until morning to see if Santa brought one.

Run, Run Rudolph
Will is getting really excited about Christmas this year. He received lots of presents from relatives, but doesn't like that he has to wait until Christmas to open them. For now, he just lies down in front of the presents with his hands on chin staring at them. He has also been keeping a close watch on them under the tree and notices when new presents are added. When a new present is added, he gets really excited and thinks it time to open presents so we have to explain over and over again that he has to wait until Christmas. This year will be the first one where Will actually knows what is going on and is anxiously awaiting Christmas, so we're really looking forward to it. Trains are his favorite thing in the world right now, so I have a feeling that Santa will bring him one this year, but we'll have to wait and see:)
For most of our car rides these days, we've been listening to Christmas music to get us in the holiday mood. Will seems to enjoy it, but really seems to like the rockin' Christmas songs. Just like daddy, he's a big fan of Chuck Berry. Here's a video of Will jamming to Chuck Berry's "Run, Run Rudolph" in the car. Unfortunately, he inherited his Daddy's rhythm and dance moves!

Flavor Ice
Our neighbor recently decided it was time to introduce Will to a little treat called "Flavor Ice". Yeah that's right...frozen sugar sticks. Well, as you can image, he loved it! In fact, as soon as he finished it, he wanted another one. We've been avoiding any kind of unhealthy sweet treats for some time now and it was all dismissed that day. Now, Will wants one any chance he can get. As soon as he gets home, he yells out "BLUE ONE...". Obviously, the "blue one" is everyone's favorite. Who can blame him. We feel like irresponsible parents giving him these wonderful treats, but he tends to win us over with his cuteness. We tend to cave as he dances across the floor, hopping around as he shouts out the color of Flavor Ice he wants. Here's a picture of the flavor he calls "BLACK ONE" (it's really purple though).
Crooked Lake - Labor Day 2008
This labor day, my parents rented a cabin on Crooked Lake in northern Indiana. Malissa, Will and I made the trip and brought along Max (Brian's son) with us. It was a long car ride, but fortunately, the kids were asleep for the majority of the trip. Despite the long trip, we had a great time. Brian was also able to take the week off of work and meet us there. The weather was perfect and the vacation was relaxing. We got to do a little swimming, take a few trips on the boat, grill out and spend a lot of time with the family. That's how a vacation should be.
With cousin Max also at the cabin, Will had a wonderful time and played until he was out of energy. During the day, they spent the majority of the time either in the water or in sand and/or dirt. The nighttime activities included laughing, playing and wrestling until they were too tired to move. They also had a blast playing with grandma and papaw. All-in-all, everyone had a great time and we enjoyed the family time.
Below are some pictures of the trip and the fun we had. I think we're going to have to do this more often.

Waterpark
Will's summer has almost come to an end. On Wednesday, Malissa goes back to work which means the Will's days will be spent at day care. The daily trips to the YMCA pool are going to be a thing of the past soon:( Will has had lots of fun playing in the water park and pool. He has also been able to capture quite the tan. Here's a picture of Will in the water park playing with his favorite toy....a cup.

Will also learned to swim in the big pool this summer. With his life vest, he can swim with the best of them. He really has no fear with the vest on and could swim for hours if we would let him. He hasn't quite mastered the ability to go under water though. He like to keep his mouth open, which doesn't fare well when going under. Here's a picture of Will and daddy (in his rare appearance at the pool).

Lions and Tigers and.....Goats?
This past Saturday, Will got to go to the zoo with Grandma, Papaw, Max and Uncle Brian. He got to see lots of animals as you can see below. Here, Papaw helped Will and Max feed the cows. He enjoyed seeing the cows but seemed to enjoy throwing corn at them even more.

Here, Will and Max are seen gazing at an immobile turtle. As you can see, they had to go in for a closer look.
Here, you can see Will in the middle of the goat petting zoo. He was a bit hesitant at first, but soon began abusing, I mean petting, the goats. He had lots of fun and made many furry friends.

WHOA BABY!
Well, the Toombs family is about to add another member to their household. We recently found out that we're going to have another baby. We are about 10 weeks into it, so there's a long road ahead of us. Well, now that you know about the baby, we thought we'd post the first pictures of the little one. Malissa went to the doctor today and was able to captures the first pictures of the little peanut. Take a look!

The Little Entertainer
Much to our chagrin, Will absolutely loves to try on Mommy's shoes and to attempt to walk in them. Once he becomes bored with the shoes, he then goes to Daddy's closet to get his "seat belts", which are just regular pant belts. High heels and a belt....This kid knows fashion! Needless to say, we have to work on the shoe thing.
Another hobby Will has pick up is the guitar. When he's not beating it with a hammer or adjusting the strings taking it way out of tune, he likes to strum and sing along to his own tunes. Of course, he wants to be just like his Daddy so he practices on the guitar pretty much everyday. Here's a video of him dancing away with his white boy rhythm to an out of tune guitar and out of pract

First Trip to the ER
Well, we had our first trip to the ER on Thursday night. Josh fell down the stairs carrying Will and as you can see Will had a small fracture in his ankle. He's being such a trooper. He's beginning to scoot around on his bottom a little more. Hopefully in a couple days he be able to walk on it or at least stand. So needless to say, William will spend his 2nd birthday in a cast!

Rub-a-dub-dub
Will loves his bathtime everynight! He cracks himself up by looking into the faucet. Here's a video of him being silly. Everything is just absolutely hysterical when you're naked! This video was taken minutes before he decide to relieve himself in the tub! Dad had the honors of cleaning that one up.

Fun in the Sun
We just got back from our vacation/wedding trip to Florida. The Toombs family flew to St. Pete Beach in Florida to attend the wedding of Malissa's older brother Jason and his fiance (now wife), Karen. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed having the whole White family together in one place. To our surprise, Will did very well on the plane ride, but he exhausted everyone around him while in Florida. Regardless, we had a great time. He was able to play with many of his aunts and uncles and also got to go to the beach and swim in the pool almost daily. Here's a shot of Will having fun at the beach.

Will didn't like having the birds around and spent half of his time in Florida chasing them away. We all got a kick out of watching him chase the seagulls and telling them to "GO AWAY!". Here's a video of Will removing the birds from the beach.

Easter Madness
It's Easter and Will had a wonderful time. He colored eggs and went on several Easter egg hunts. The first Easter egg hunt Will participated in was the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. The weather was cold, wet and snowy, but it didn't seem to affect his ability to snatch up eggs. The turnout was surprisingly good considering the weather, but there were only two other kids in Will's age bracket. So needless to say, there was very little competition in the hunt. He came away with a basket of eggs and a few toys, which kept him preoccupied for a while. Here's a picture of the little guy roaming around in search of the lost egg.
Here he is in action at the Timber Springs Easter egg hunt. All kids were supposed to stop at 10 eggs, but Will just kept on going. Watch as he tries to take more than his share!
The next day was Easter Sunday and Will awoke to many more eggs and a basket of goodies. Although you can't tell by the picture below, Will was ecstatic. After cleaning up the aftermath from another Easter egg hunt, Malissa and Megan took Will to Grammy's where he received even more goodies. Then, to close the day out, we took him to Grandma and Papa's where (you guessed it) he received even more goodies. All in all, he received enough toys to last him until his birthday.

Snow Day!
Fun at the Children's Museum
For Christmas, we received a membership to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. There is so much to do and see. The first time we went, Will was terrified of the horses on the carosel. This is a picture from our second visit. He wanted to ride a big horse next to Daddy! He is getting so big and taking so much. He repeats everything.
